Monday
L.O: To multiply 2 digits by 1 digits (with exchanging)
This leads on from Friday’s column multiplication lesson. We are now crossing ones and tens boundaries. If you want to start more simply, use the scaffold sheet. It lets you see the place value counters at the same time.
If you are finding our L.O tricky, go up to Question 5 today then have more practise with the second fluency sheet J
TUESDAY
L.O: continued
If you are confident using yesterday’s method, then go straight to the challenge sheet J
If you would like more practise try the fluency sheet. You can then finish yesterday sheet from Q5. You might want to watch yesterday’s video again.
After today you now have formal methods for addition, subtraction and multiplication!
Wednesday
L.O: To divide a two digit number by a one digit number
Today we are partitioning numbers (pulling into tens and ones) and then dividing.
Thursday
L.O: To divide a two digit number by a one digit number
This is similar to yesterday but today our numbers are a bit naughtier. We have to partition them in different ways. Don’t worry – I’ll show you how to do it. Knowing your timestables is useful today so I’ve attached a multiplication grid.
Friday
Maths Mats – the same idea as last week. We haven’t looked at fractions yet this year, so don’t worry – just see if you can work it out!
