Vision & Values
Dobcroft Junior School is a values driven, inclusive school in which the learning and teaching, achievements, attitudes and well-being of all members of this learning community matter. It continually seeks to remove barriers to learning, values diversity and shows respect for all individuals. Through working in partnership with parents and carers and responding to the needs of its community, the school aims to maximise the potential for all pupils to lead safe, happy, healthy and successful lives. The vision of our school is set by the governing board, in consultation with stakeholders.
Our school motto is:
“Together We Make a Difference”
This means that by all of us individually striving to live by the school values, we will collectively succeed in making a difference to our school community, local community and in turn wider society.
Our school values comprise:-
Together We Are Safe
Together We Are Kind
Together We Are Problem Solvers
Together We Embrace Difference
Together We Do Our Best
British Values
Our government believes that ‘British society is founded on fundamental values and principles, which all those living in the UK should respect and support. These values are reflected in the responsibilities, rights and privileges of being a British citizen or permanent resident of the UK. They are based on history and traditions and are protected by law, customs and expectations. There is no place in British society for extremism or intolerance.’ These British Values link greatly to our own Dobcroft values and are therefore integrated into our whole school teaching and learning. Below you are able to see how our own values relate directly to the British values of: democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
