S.E.N.D
At some time or another we all need a little extra support or help. It may only be temporary, such as some extra TLC whilst recovering from an injury, or long term, such as help to develop speech and language skills. The whole team at Dobcroft work closely together and in partnership with parents to meet the needs of the children and deliver the SEND Code of Practice. We want each child to get the most from their time with us and reach their full potential.
We all learn in different ways and at different rates. At Dobcroft we believe in the importance of delivering first quality teaching in lessons and carefully considering our routines and strategies so all the children can access their learning at whatever stage of development they are at and whatever their needs are. We aim to support the children to become confident learners with the skills and independence needed to be able to reach their goals. We are keen to work with other professionals, such as Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and the Local Authority Specialist Support Services, to address any SEN concerns, identify needs and continue to develop our skills and knowledge. We will always strive hard to implement any advice received. In most cases this is done within class but sometimes it may be delivered in a different environment such as small group, but we will always try to be as creative and flexible as possible for the benefit of the child.
