Monday 18th January
L.O: To read an information text and answer questions
We know so many of you enjoyed the Harry Potter topic last week so we thought we would continue with the theme on Monday and Tuesday. This week you will be reviewing the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour. Have any of you visited? Would you like to visit?
Today you will find out about the Warner Bros Studio Tour. You will watch the advert and even explore the website. You will answer the questions and provide your opinion which will help you with tomorrow’s writing task.
Tuesday 19th January
L.O: To write a review
Today you will read a negative review about the Warner Bros Studio.
Imagine you have visited. Can you turn the negative review into a positive one? What did you enjoy when you were there? What was your favourite part? Read the WAGOLL ( what a good one looks like) to help you.
Wednesday 20th January
L.O: To identify word classes
Have you ever played Mario Kart? Did you enjoy it? What characters are in the game? For the rest of this week’s English you exploring the characters from Mario Kart. Today you will read the character profiles. You will use the character profiles to identify the different word classes.
Thursday 21st January
L.O: To consolidate word classes.
Today you will introduce some new Mario-style characters to the game. What names will you give them? Can you add a word to each section of the grid and then make a sentence up about each new character?
Friday 22nd January
L.O: To explore and use a dictionary.
Have you ever used a dictionary? Do you know how dictionaries are organised and what information they provide us? Did you know dictionaries even tell us the word class! Today you will read a dictionary extract and identify its different parts, including word class and meaning. You will then research given words using an online dictionary and write your own dictionary style entry for three of them.
