Year 3 Wider Curriculum Week Beginning 15th June: RE

Hello everybody, it's Mrs Scammell here. I hope you are all well. I have been trying hard to enjoy the weather this week but I certainly miss the sun!
This week we are going to be looking at the Hindu Gods in order to understand the polytheism of Hinduism and in particular the Trimurti.
Where a powerpoint is given, this can be viewed on a screen if possible, it should not need to be printed out in its entirety.
Monday LO: To explore the Hindu belief that there is one God with many aspects. View the powerpoint about the many faces of Brahman. Then look at my WAGOLL to see how I am different things to different people. Complete the task sheet.
Tuesday: Reading comprehension about more of the gods. This is a differentiated series of reading comprehensions. *** is the most challenging and * is the least. Choose one and answer the questions about it.
Wednesday: Today you will be looking at the God Brahma in more detail. He makes up one third of the Trimurti. View the powerpoint that talks about the symbols he is often seen with. Complete the worksheet related to the powerpoint.
Thursday: Today you will look at Vishnu and Shiva the other two Gods who, together with Brahma, make up the Trimurti. Read the informtion sheets and choose your favourite 5 facts about each God to write around their picture on your sheet.
Friday: One important symbol of Brahma is the lotus flower. Follow the instructions to make your own. You will need a piece of paper 25cm x 25cm.
