Y5 Wider curriculum – P.S.H.E.

Monday 8.3.2021

Task 1:

This week, we will be creating a jigsaw. Remember, all jigsaw pieces are unique! First, think: what makes you unique?

Open the document called Monday PSHE Task 1. On the big puzzle piece, write your name and all of the things that make you unique. You might want to write an acrostic using your name, or draw pictures to go with each of these. You can bring this into school to form part of our class jigsaw.

Task 2:

Now you can create your own jigsaw just about you! Choose either the 4 piece or 6 piece jigsaw. On each piece, write down one of your hobbies, interests or qualities. When the pieces all join together – they make you. (I like to think of these like Riley’s personality islands in the Inside Out movie!)

Open the document called Monday PSHE Task 2. Complete either the 4 piece or 6 piece jigsaw.

R.E.

Tuesday 9.3.2021

Read the information and watch the videos about Islam:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zpdtsbk

Open the document called Tuesday - R.E. Main Task. Design and create a poster all about Islam. You can use the template, or create your own design with the same headings.

History

Wednesday 10.3.2021

First, watch this video: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zg87xnb/articles/z4m8pg8

Then, open the Powerpoint called Wednesday - History Slides (also saved as a PDF). Read through the information completing tasks A, B and C on some plain paper.

Once you have read through the Powerpoint, open the document called Wednesday - History Task. Choose the one, two or three star option. Match the different Ancient Egyptian roles (jobs) to their description. Which job role would you like most if you had lived in Ancient Egypt?

Finished? Why not create an information poster using the information you have read about?

P.E.

Tuesday 9.3.2021

Create an obstacle course around your house to get active. You might include:

  • Running up and down the stairs
  • Crawling under a few chairs
  • Limbo under a piece of string
  • Balancing on one foot on a tile
  • Bouncing on a trampoline
  • Crawling under a duvet on the floor

Try to include at least 6 activities in your course. Time how quickly you can get around it. Can you improve your time? Which one of your family members can get around quickest? How could you make it more difficult (e.g. no hands, you have to hop)?

Friday 12.3.2021
