LO: To explore the difference between right and wrong.

This week, we will be exploring the difference between right and wrong.

Watch: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/why-should-i-be-good/zmbrkmn

Think about the answers to these questions:

  • How do you know what is right and wrong?
  • What stops you from doing naughty things all the time?
  • Is it ever okay to be naughty?
  • Is it still worth doing good things if nobody sees you?

Task – Open the document called Monday PSHE – Comic Strip. Make a comic strip showing a time when it is ok to do something that is usually wrong.
For example, a starving parent stealing food from a windowsill so her children don’t starve.

L.O. To describe how diet and exercise impact on human bodies.

First, watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEPFbkDrYuM

Then, open the powerpoint called Wednesday – Science Powerpoint and read the information.

Task 1: Open the worksheet called Wednesday – Science Task 1. Choose either the 1, 2 or 3 star option. Make notes from the powerpoint on your sheet about a healthy diet and exercise. You can look at the slides as much as you like to make your notes.

Task 2: Open the worksheet called Wednesday – Science Task 2. Different exercises are better for different age groups. Use the internet to research the best kinds of exercise for each age group. You could also interview your family members and find out their favourite and least favourite types of exercise.

Thursday 25.2.2021

L.O.: To evalulate the impact that different exercises have on human bodies.

First, watch this video to learn how to take your pulse: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/science-ks2-how-our-circulatory-system-keeps-us-alive/zhf76v4

Task 1: Open the sheet called Thursday – Science Task 1. Measure your resting heart rate. If you have a family member who is free, you can also measure their resting heart rate.

The question we are investigating is: How do different exercises affect your pulse? What do you predict will happen to your pulse when you exercise? Will it get faster or slower?

Now you’re ready to get started! You will need your Task 1 sheet for this next part. Choose 3 different activities for example:

  • Star jumps
  • Running on the spot
  • Squats

Time yourself doing one of these exercises for a minute. No stopping! Quick – after you’ve finished the exercise, take your pulse and see how the number changes! You can write this down onto Task 1 Sheet. Repeat this for your other exercises. Which one made your heart rate go up the most? Can you explain why you think this is to an adult? Let us know on Class Dojo!
