Y5 Home Learning 11.06.21
Date: 11th Jun 2021 @ 8:48am
Children in Year 5 are expected to complete 50 minutes of homework each week. Please help and support your child wherever possible. However, your child should be able to complete the work independently as it is linked to objectives taught during the week at school. Although homework is now set through online platforms, your child’s teacher is able to see if your child has completed tasks set and how well they have understood the task. Rewards will be given to children for completing homework on time.
Maths
Focus: Measuring angles
Please login to your My Maths account (www.mymaths.co.uk). Your child’s passwords has been sent out on the Y5 newsletter.
We suggest children use squared paper to work out the calculations. Make sure your decimal points are one on top of the other and each column is correctly lined up.
Then, please login in to your Times Table Rockstar account weekly to practise times tables. (Your child’s password has been sent out on the Y5 newsletter).
Spellings:
Focus: Hyphens can be used to join a prefix to a root word, especially if the prefix ends in a vowel letter and the root word also begins with one
co-ordinate
co-operate
co-own
co-author
re-enter
re-examine
re-evaluate
re-educate
re-explain
re-energise
With these words, not only do children need to know how to spell them, but they need to know the meaning so that they can identify each one correctly in a sentence. Your teacher has also set a spelling assignment for you to do on Spelling Shed. Please login in to your Spelling Shed account to complete this.
Please note your child will be tested on their spelling list every Friday.
