Lesson 1
Read the WAGOLL of a rescue story. Can you tell what is happening in the: opening, build up, dilemma, events and resolution?
This week you are going to write your own rescue story. Remember, there should be a dilemma in the story too.
LO: To write a plan and the opening for a rescue story with a dilemma
On the plan, write your ideas down for what you want to happen in the opening, build up, dilemma, events and resolution of your own rescue story with a dilemma.
You might have already done this in class, but you will need a plan to write your story from.
Try and make your story realistic. Ask yourself, “Could it really happen?”
When you have finished the plan, write the opening paragraph. Read through the success criteria and tick off the features you have included.

Lesson 2
LO: To write the build-up and dilemma to a rescue story.
Read through the expanded noun phrases powerpoint to remind yourself what they are and think about how you can use in your build-up.
Write 1 paragraph for the build-up to your story and another paragraph for the dilemma.
When you have finished, read through the success criteria and tick off the features you have included.

LO: To write the events to a rescue story (following the dilemma).
When you have finished writing the events, what do you choose to do? What action takes place after this? Read through the success criteria and tick off the features you have included.

Lesson 4
LO: To write the resolution to a rescue story with a dilemma.
How will your story end? Will the bad character get his/her comeuppance?
Try to tie up any loose ends so the reader knows what happens to all the characters.
When you have finished, read through the success criteria and tick off the features you have included.
