Y4 English Week beginning 23.11.20
Date: 19th Nov 2020 @ 12:25pm
Y4 English
This week is assessment week in school for Year 4, therefore the timetable looks a little different to usual. At school we spend time completing the assessments and then spend time together improving and reflecting on our work to help us to improve. Bring your assessment papers back to school with you and your class teacher will mark them.
Monday 23.11.20
No English today because it is assessment week.
Tuesday 24.11.20
Reading Test
Read the instructions in the 'Reading Text' and complete the practise questions on pages 2 and 3 with an adult (Reading answer booklet).
You then have 35 minutes to read and answer the questions on the first text: The Eruption.
After a 15 minute break, complete the rest of the test. You have 40 minutes to do this.
Don't spend too long on one question - leave it and try again later.
Keep referring back to the booklet to find the answers (page numbers are given to help find relevant information).
You will not be marked on spelling, punctuation or grammar and you do not need to answer in full sentences.
Always check your answers.
Wednesday 25.11.20
No English today because it is assessment week.
Thursday 26.11.20
Grammar and Punctuation Test (see pdf)
Read the instructions and complete the practice questions together with an adult.
Then complete the booklet independently for 40 minutes.
Don't spend too long on one question - leave it and try again later.
If you make a mistake, make sure it's really clear what the new answer is.
Unfortunately, adults can't help with any spellings but they could read the question to you if you are not sure what it says.
Friday 27.11.20
No English today because it is assessment week.
