LO: To make predictions based on facts
Your friend - Red Riding Hood’s house has been broken into! She was sleeping over at your house last night, then she went home this morning to find a complete mess!
Nothing seems to be missing except ALL THE FOOD from the kitchen!
As you work for the local newspaper, it is your job to write a report on this crime. It will be on the front page of the newspaper.
Your task is to make a list of all the facts and predict what you think has happened. Look at the pictures on teh 'Pictures of the Facts' pdf and write a list of what you know about this crime and what you think has happened and why.

LO: To write quotes for a newspaper article
As your job as reporter, you are going to interview Red Riding Hood, her Grandma and her neighbour, Mr Woodcutter.
Can you ask any members of your household to be these characters?
Ask them:
What did you see?
What did you hear?
What time was it?
What did you do?
Write 3 quotes for your newspaper article, trying to stick to the facts as much as possible.
E.g. Mr Woodcutter, Red Riding Hood’s neighbour, was very shaken up. He told us,
“I heard a scratching sound around midnight,
as if claws were scraping down a door.
And then Miss Riding Hood’s burglar alarm
went off and I called the police.”

LO: To plan a newspaper report
Use the 'Newspaper plan' pdf to write your ideas on and plan out what will go in your article. Remember it needs a catchy headline to start with and then the stand-first will introduce the article. Decide what you want to have as your ‘photo’.

Using your plan from yesterday, write your newspaper report on the ‘Newspaper template for final write’ pdf.
Write in your neatest handwriting and draw a picture for your photo.
Can you take a photo of your newspaper report and email it to your teacher?
