Y3 Remote Education English 15/3

Date: 11th Mar 2021 @ 10:18am

We're carrying on with The Day The Crayons Quit this week.

Lesson 1

L.O: To use a dictionary to correct spellings and check definitions

Lesson 2

L.O: To plan a persuasive letter

This week you can pick any object in your house that might have a reason to be cross and write a letter from it to you explaining it's feelings. Ideas - a book that hasn't been read for ages, a teddy that never gets cuddled, a football that is flat and left outside.... the choice is yours.

Today- choose your object and decide the reason/reasons why it is unhappy. You need about 4 reasons and how each reason makes your object feel. Then put them in order of importance - which is the main problem all the way down to the one that might be mentioned just because it's feeling moany!

Im going to choose a football - the main reason it is unhappy it is never played with. It just sits and stares at the sky all day long. It also gets left out int he rain - it feels abandoned! It gets wet, freezing cold, boiling hot.... 3rdly it is flat so if someone does decide to play with it it just gets booted once before they remember it's flat and give up (at least it has a change of scenery) Finally, (and this is a bit silly) it even got splashed a little bit last week when the dog went out for a garden wee!!

Lesson 3 and Lesson 4

L.O: TO write and edit a persuasive letter

It might take you a few days to write and edit your letter. Copy it into best when you're finished and send it in to your teacher. They would love to have it as part of the display!

Finishing Friday - remember to use today to catch up. There are new spellings on Spelling Shed and you can complete a book on Bug Club. Have fun!
