Wednesday 25/3 Year 3

Date: 24th Mar 2020 @ 5:28pm

Hi y3, it's Mrs Collis here. I hope you are all staying healthy and being helpful.

Every Wednesday, Friday and Monday during term time, Mrs Kirk, Mr White, Mrs Scammell and myself will update the your work tasks that you might like to choose from. Try and do some work everyday to keep up the fantastic progess you've already made this year.

We miss you all and can't wait to see you soon

MATHS

LO: To tell the time to 5 minutes.

Throughout the day, ask your parents (or an older sibling) to test you on what time it is to the nearest 5 minutes.

Remember, if the minute hand (the long hand) is between 12 and 6, then it is past the hour and when it is after 6 but before 12, we count how many minute to the next hour.

Challenge: Can you work out the duration when your parents last asked you to tell the time?

If you need extra practise/support at home, here is a link to a virtual clock face to allow you to create various times.

Don’t forget you can log onto MyMaths where there are a variety of time activities.

ENGLISH

Write a letter or send an email to somebody that you are starting to miss. Remember to ask them some questions and try to entertain them with joke or funny story!

PSHE

L.O: To investigate hazards in the home

This week we  were going to thinking about dangers to children. Go around your house and make a list of all the potential hazards in your home and garden (do not touch them!) See if you can spot more dangers than  your adult.

RE

L.O: To retell the Easter Story

Research the Christian Easter story. You might want to tell the story to an adult and explain why Easter is an important time for Christians. You could rewrite the story, turn it into a comic strip or even make an animation!

HEALTH

L.O: To keep a healthy mind and body

Try to be active for at least an hour a day. Have you tried Joe Wicke's PE class?

Aim to eat at least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day. Keep going with your healthy morning snack.
