LO: To demonstrate how fossils are formed

We used our knowledge of sedimentary rocks forming in layers and under pressure to demonstrate how fossils are formed! We put the gummy sweets (organic matter and animals) between layers of bread (sediment) and placed our fossil creations underneath piles of books to put them under pressure. After millions of years (or a couple of days...) we checked to see the impact and WOW! All of our sediment had created casts of fossils and left fossil fuels behind in the rock!
