WHOLE SCHOOL wider curriculum final week

Date: 10th Jul 2020 @ 4:18pm

Well this week is the final week of what has been the strangest summer terms we have ever had. Your teachers have all missed you and are really proud of what you and your parents have done at home. We can imagine it hasn’t always been easy and staying motivated throughout it all has been a mean feat!

If we were in school this week there would have been lots of fun activities going on with outdoor PE lessons, one-off projects and lots of art and craft celebrating the start of summer and the end of a busy year.

This week’s wider curriculum activities reflect that and offer something for everyone. You will find lots of activities that you can complete this week or in the summer holidays. We wouldn’t expect you to complete them all but choose something that takes your fancy each day.

Art:

Design your dream summer reflection in some funky sunglasses or complete one of the summer art challenges.

STEM:

Ever been caught in the rain and got completely soaked? Can you design an umbrella or a similar device that will keep you dry in a rain shower? This is just one of the challenges you could complete from the stem challenge cards.

Summer Booklet:

There is a year 5 and 6 summer activity booklet and a year 3 and 4 summer activity booklet. These are linked to the wider curriculum objectives for each year but children can complete the same activities as siblings in other years if easier. There is lots to choose from!

Puzzles:

Sudokus, crosswords and wordsearches that cover some of the work covered throughout the year.

Well done for all your wider curriculum work this term! Don’t forget to send us any pictures of the work you have completed this week.

Best wishes for the summer!
