Majorie’s garden began 8 years ago, when our school community sadly lost a much-loved and respected member of staff. Mrs Spink worked with the Y6 team: supporting children, co-ordinating Pupils’ Parliament and the orienteering team. With the support of the school governors we wanted to commemorate Mrs Spink’s life and to develop a space where all children could relax and enjoy their surroundings.
Once the builders had left, following our school expansion Marjorie’s Garden was looking a little unloved. Last year members of Pupils’ Parliament collected ideas from everyone in school to create a disability friendly science garden. We have since worked with Ares Landscape Architects to design a collection of spaces where children can learn, play, explore, create and relax.
Our dream space for the school community becomes reality, making even greater use of the unused area in our school.
Purchase a name inscription
A name inscription on our spectacular wall sculpture made from architectural metalwork for £100. This will form part of a large, permanent piece of artwork on entry to the garden, for all to see in future years, in order to promote and thank those who supported the project. This may be a family name or a business name. Simple logos can perhaps be accommodated. Why not join together as families to purchase a joint inscription! (max 35 characters)
