At Dobcroft Junior School, we pride ourselves on our provision for the welfare and emotional health of our children.
The Butterfly House is a safe and comforting space, where the children are able to talk through their worries and concerns.
We recognise that children need to have a healthy mind in order for them to learn. The Butterfly House has become an integral part of the school, providing important life skills and research based strategies in which they can use now and in the future.
Via a referral system within school, children are provided with various methods of support to promote the healthy mind, including one to one and group work.
We at Dobcroft have strong links with MAST – the Multi Agency Support Team. This team has proved to be invaluable to many of our parents, providing them with a wealth of up-to-date parenting information and workshops.
“Mental health is the successful performance of mental function, resulting in productive activities, fulfilling relationships with other people, and providing the ability to adapt to change and cope with adversity.”
