Y4 Art Week Beginning 6th July

 

Hi Year 4. You are going to be finding out about the artist, Pete Mckee this week and you’ll be trying to use his style of drawing and painting.

 

Monday

L.O: to learn about different types of art.

  • To start the week, I would like you to do some research into the street art we have in Sheffield.
  • Follow the link to Street Art Sheffield, a website celebrating the art we have on our streets:
  • Find 2 or 3 pieces of art that you like and share them with a family member, alongside an explanation of why you like them.

 

Tuesday

L.O: to learn about a great artist and different kinds of art.

  • The PowerPoint on the blog has details about what to do in each session.
  • You will need the following items:
  • Paper or a sketch pad
  • A sharp pencil
  • Sheet 1 Key Vocabulary
  • Sheet 2 Timeline
  • Sheet 3 The notes about Pete McKee
  • Sheet 4 Photos of Pete McKee’s work

 

You may want to print these out, however, you do not need to print all of them, you could work on them electronically, using a word processing program and take screen shots of the photos you wish to use.

 

Wednesday

L.O: to develop techniques with control and creativity.

  • The PowerPoint on the blog has details about what to do in each session.
  • You will need the following items:
  • Paper or a sketch pad
  • A sharp pencil
  • Sheet 4 Photos of Pete McKee

 

Thursday

LO: to use recorded observations to review and revisit ideas, using different materials.

  • Paper or a sketch pad
  • A sharp pencil
  • Sketches from yesterday
  • Copies of Pete McKee paintings (can be electronic)
  • Paints (if you have them) and paintbrushes

 

Friday

L.O: to improve the mastery of painting

  • The PowerPoint on the blog has details about what to do in each session.
  • You will need the following items:
  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • Paints and paintbrushes (if you have them)
