Y3SC Stone Henge Challenge

Date: 15th Nov 2018 @ 4:32pm

This afternoon, as part of our "How did we survive the Stone Age" topic we found out about Stone Henge. We discovered how historians think it was built and why. Did you know that the tallest stones were taller than 4 Mr Whites?! We thought it was amazing how determined the Stone Age people must have been to build such an impressive place. We used the Stone Age system of moving a stone (Lucy) on rolling logs (lots of us) though it got a bit tricky in the corridor when we reached the pillar!

After taking a 3D virtual tour of Stone Henge, we were challenged to make it using Mrs Collis' favourite building material - biscuits! Working in teams of 5, we had to show a great deal of patience, determination and skill to try and create something that resembled Stone Henge. The children were rewarded at the end with a biscuity treat.

Orla G: "It was so frustrating when it kept falling down!"

Henry: "Our team rules were no telling off and no giving up!"
