Y3's visit to Cannon Hall Farm

Date: 15th Oct 2018 @ 8:28am

As part of our RE curriculum, Y3 have been learning about Harvest. They have been exploring the learning objective of

What does a farmer do?

We went to Cannon Hall Farm to investigate.

It was a very busy day and the weather was glorious. During the farm tour, we explored the farrowing sheds, watched Mary the cow being milked, learnt about rare breeds and saw lots of working farm machinery. We saw and fed lots of animals including cows, llamas, alpacas and newborn piglets.

We also had immense fun in the adventure playground and enjoyed the sights in the reptile house!

Eloise said "When we went to Cannon Hall Farm I saw lots of animals. I was happy."

Sophie C "When we went to Cannon Hall Farm I saw piglets, cows, sheep llamas and I felt very excited of what we were going to do next. It was a great day.”

Charlotte "We saw lots of animals, I also loved the adventure playground and the tunnels.”

Farmer Darryl gave Y3 a challenge- to find out how many different kinds of farms go into the making of a scotch egg. We enjoyed brainstorming this in class the next day! Have a go, it is very eye opening!
