Y3 Rock with Chocolate

L.O: To understand how the 3 main types of rocks are formed

What can 126 children make with a LOT of grated chocolate? Rocks - that's what!

This afternoon, Y3 have been learning about how rocks are made and trying to reproduce this using grated chocolate to represent sediment (organic matter, rocks and minerals). They used pressure to make sedimentary rocks. They layers they made were fantastic! The children then learnt how to make metamorphic and igneous rocks. The theory behind it was a bit tricky but they did a great job.
