Whole School Wider Curriculum 1st June: 30 Days Wild

Date: 28th May 2020 @ 10:20pm

Hello!

Some of you will have heard of the Wildlife Trusts' annual campaign 30 Day Wild that runs through the month of June.  This information is taken from their website and tells you a little bit about the campaign:

"This June, join thousands of people taking part in our annual nature challenge, 30 Days Wild! We want you to do one wild thing a day throughout the whole month: for your health, wellbeing and for the planet. That’s 30 simple, fun and exciting Random Acts of Wildness.

You’ll get a free, downloadable pack of goodies to help you plan your wild month, plus lots of ideas to inspire you to stay wild all throughout June (and beyond!). For extra ‘bonus’ items, keep an eye on your emails for additional, fun activities, from instructions for baking hedgehog cupcakes to a beginner’s guide to wildlife photography."

Once you have signed up, you will receive links to the Wildlife Trusts' 30 Random Acts of Wildness and many other resources such as instructions for Wildlife Yoga, a lesson plan to design a new species of bird and links to wildlife webcams the Wildlife Trust has set up around the UK. I'm sure you will have lots of other great ideas of how to get wild too!

This will run alongside the Wider Curriculum Home Learning for the month of June but to get you started I have chosen a Bee identification activitiy, simply head outdoors, keep your eyes and ears alert and use the attached sheet to help you identify the different bees you see!

Enjoy and stay wild!
