Friday 27/3 Y3

Date: 27th Mar 2020 @ 9:20am

Morning guys! What have you been up to over the last few days? As well as doing teacher things at home I've been doing some yoga, I did an Oti Mabussi dance class (lots of fun) and I'm half way through the book I was given for Christmas.

I'll put lots of work ideas on here for over Easter and we'll be back after the holiday to update the list. Don't forget that there is always Bug Club, TT Rockstars, Mymaths to be getting on with.

Maths

LO: To tell the time to the nearest minute.

Throughout the day, ask your parents (or an older sibling) to test you on what time it is to the nearest minute.

Remember, if the minute hand (the long hand) is between 12 and 6, then it is past the hour and when it is after 6 but before 12, we count how many minute to the next hour.

Challenge: Can you work out the duration until you next have a break? Go outside? Complete a task? Have dinner?

If you need extra practise/support at home, here is a link to a virtual clock face to allow you to create various times.

Don’t forget you can log onto MyMaths where there are a variety of time activities.

KEEP DOING THIS ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE EASTER HOLIDAYS AND YOU'LL THEN BE A TIME SUPERSTAR!!

English

Start writing a weekly diary about the things you have done to keep busy during these strange times. What are the people in your household doing? Are your parents key workers? How are you communicating with your family and friends?  This period of time is a moment in history and in years to come this diary will be fabulous to look back.

READING

Your teachers can see everytime you go on BugClub and lots of you are doing so well! We can see if you get your answers right to the quiz questions - remember, if you're not sure of an answer you need to look back in the book, don't just guess! We would love to see lots of green faces for correct answers.

Enjoy the sunshine while you can - read in your garden!

RE

Make a loved one an Easter Card. Remember the symbols off eggs, flowers and baby animals that symbolise fresh start and new life. The cross symbolises hope and new life.

PSHE

L.O: To understand how to stay safe

Remember that list you made this week of dangers in the home... we now we need to think of ways of staying safe near the hazards. For examples - just saying no

STAY HEALTHY STAY HELPFUL

Daily helpfulness - everyday, go out of your way to offer to be helpful at home. Offer to do the washing up, hoover the house or put the clean washing away. Your adult will ReALLY appreciate it!

Fitness challenge - do you remember the ones we  started in school? Why don't you make your own at home for things you can do in your garden or lounge?

How many times can you....

How long does it take you to....

HAPPY EASTER!!

from Mrs Kirk, Mr White, Mrs Collis and Mrs Scammell
